CPR and Anaphylaxis
This Level 2 (1 credit) Award will teach you how to delivery emergency basic life support, CPR and first aid to casualties suffering from anaphylactic shock. Anaphylaxis occurs following a major allergic reaction which can cause life threatening respiratory illness.

This qualification covers:
- Effective administration of CPR
- Effective usage of an adrenaline auto-injector for the treatment of anaphylaxis
You will learn how to manage an unresponsive casualty, as well as how to recognise and manage a casualty with anaphylaxis.
This course will teach you how to safely use an adrenaline auto-injector unit for the treatment of anaphylaxic shock. This includes learning about the three adrenaline auto-injector units that are currently prescribed in the UK (Emerade, EpiPen and Jext).
Assessment
This qualification is tutor assessed through the completion of worksheets and practical demonstrations.
Additional information
This qualification is designed for people within the workplace, at home or in a voluntary setting who may come into contact with someone who suffers from anaphylatic shock.
